Coaching workshop
A practical, half-day, online workshop.
The coaching workshop is an interactive, practical half-day training workshop delivered live and online by Elena Loraine.
On the coaching workshop, you will:
-Be introduced to the key concepts and theory underpinning coaching within the paediatric therapy context.
-Delve into an evidence-based and practical model of coaching.
-Watch and analyse real-life coaching video examples.
-Reflect and discuss in small groups on the workshop materials and your own clinical practice.
-Build a practical resource to develop your coaching skills in your next therapy session.
Why attend this training?
Survey results from SLT NHS teams nationally, who took part in the training, indicated that therapists recognise the importance of coaching but reported a lack of confidence and knowledge in applying it to their clinical practice.
Before the workshop nearly all delegates surveyed reported that they believed it is ‘extremely' or 'very important’ to coach parents/educational staff members in therapy sessions. However, despite recognising the importance of engaging parents/educational staff in coaching conversations within their sessions, delegates reported they felt ‘somewhat' (59%) or 'not so' (36%) confident in their coaching skills. In terms of knowledge, prior to the workshop 53% of delegates responded that they were ‘somewhat familiar’ with coaching concepts.
Following the workshop 58% of the delegates surveyed reported feeling ‘very confident’ in coaching in their sessions and 65% reported to be ‘very familiar’ with coaching concepts.
The survey results demonstrated that the workshop provides an effective tool in supporting therapists to develop and improve upon their coaching knowledge and skills.
We look forward to seeing you on our next coaching workshop.
